lightkeeper under the blanket

can i just say that hal sparks is really hot?

Saturday, January 22

i am obsessed with "project runway." obsessed, i tell you. that and "24" are my new TV treats.

i am re-reading _smilla's sense of snow_, which originally K lent me to read a couple years ago. the paperback and hardcover editions have different titles, and i also noticed a preponderance of UK folk reviewing the paperback version, which i originally read. it's probably the same translator, though. damnit. somebody spoiled the ending, which i had actually forgotten....rare for me, which is why i don't often re-read books until ten years later...

i am doing schoolwork. and occasionally going out with my fellow students...i really really want to do more, but i feel so shy lately. a guy with a funny name (not a student, though) asked me out for drinks and i keep postponing it. last weekend i was sick and had a paper to write, and tonight i'm not leaving this building for anything but a fire alarm. that snow is FIERCE.

that is about it. i haven't even talked to nate or clint in forever, nor have i seen my cousin who lives several blocks away. bleh.

Monday, January 17

why did clint eastwood make a film based on an alice cooper song? billion dollar babies? huh?

okay, sorry. anyway. isn't it sad that the thing that finally makes me post is to say how much i love the piped-in music at the local shopping center? no, they didn't play alice cooper, but they did play donovan's "mellow yellow" in walgreen's and a muzak version of "that thing you do!" in the supermarket. speaking of songs and films, that's a song written only to further the plot of a film. weird.

i am writing a paper. this is procrastination. which i don't do anymore. except for my permitted one-hour break to watch "24" and eat supper.

Monday, January 3

i know i haven't posted in over a month. sorry. finals, vacation, it all got to be overwhelming.

two things for right now; about all i can manage:

i got better grades for last term than i ever expected. it's a good, good feeling to know that two years out of school didn't make me dumb.

three awesome business names i saw on vacation: wan boy butchers, reality supermarket, and shekhinah carwash. awesome. let our hot wax surround you like the presence of god.
